Daily afternoon departures, September 2-30, 2008.
When Alcatraz tours are sold out, this cruise is the best way to see more of the bay and get as close to “The Rock” as possible without docking. This fully narrated, 90 minute cruise sails under the Golden Gate Bridge and showcases the historic “Guardians of the Gate,” including Fort Baker, Fort Point, The Presidio and of course Alcatraz—all part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. You’ll also see Sausalito, Tiburon, Angel Island Sate Park and the best views of the San Francisco Skyline, while circling Alcatraz, you’ll learn the stories of life on “The Rock” from the inmates, guards and families who actually lived and worked on the island.
These seasonal cruises depart Pier 33 daily at 1:30pm and 3:30 pm. A 5:30 pm cruise is offered Thursday through Monday afternoons. $24.00 Adults, $20.00 Juniors 12-17 and Seniors 62+, $15.00 Children 5-11. Children under 5 ride free of charge.
Note: This tour does not dock at Alcatraz and sails under the Golden Gate Bridge weather permitting.
